Of the many sheds Action Steel has built in the Wimmera Mallee region, the 270 metre long hay shed at Warracknabeal for the Somers family is definitely the biggest.
Potentially the largest on-farm storage hay shed in the Southern Hemisphere, at 270 metres long, 27 metres wide and 9 metres high, the shed has the capacity to comfortably store 17,000 bales of hay and covers around 7,400 square metres!
With another two sheds to come in the first stage of this project, and five planned in total, the Somers family will have an impressive on-farm storage set up.
Along with two 126-metre-long Action hay sheds being built at Crymelon, this exciting project reflects the general positivity in agriculture across the Wimmera Mallee and further.
